Lots of sunshine, a breezy spring day, well-dressed men and women in colorful clothing, beautiful hats, the Skye Terrace at Churchill downs… Unfortunately, this is not a description of the 2018 Kentucky Derby, which was the wettest Kentucky Derby in history with 2.6 inches of rain.

What I am describing is the fun-filled, fabulous-way-to-end-the-week, Greater Louisville Association of Realtors Day at the Races! Anyone shopping for - or selling - a home last Friday may have had some trouble finding a Realtor, as we were all at the track betting our hard-earned money on the ponies. Well, maybe not all, but it sure seemed like all the Realtors in Louisville were there.

Our broker, Mike Brown, at On the Move Realtors treated the team to the event. We had a perfectly positioned table right next to the windows/sliding doors to outside, to the buffet, to the betting windows and to the bathrooms!

We kept our server, Freddy, hopping with requests for various beverages. He did a great job in taking care of us and certainly earned his tip.

My husband, who had done very well with his bets on opening night of the spring meet, went well-armed with a tip sheet, prepared to go home a big winner. After much review and calculation of which horses were the best bets, I am sad to report that there was not a repeat performance.

A terrific day of hanging out with friends and co-workers was had by all. We left the track with a little less money and talking about when we are going to return. No matter what day of the week, attending an event at Churchill Downs is always a wonderful time.
